The Multi-Genre Singing Teacher: What tools do we need?

  • Date: July 26, 2025
  • Venue: Mountview Theatre School, London SE15 5JT

HANDS ON – NOT JUST TALK! Gillyanne and Jeremy on their course

Advances in technology this century have brought us to a place where anyone with a smartphone has access to any type of music. This has changed our teaching landscape significantly – most of us can no longer rely on having one genre specialism. We need tools to accurately analyse musical and vocal style features of different genres and find a way of mapping these onto an individual voice.

This interactive training day of masterclasses and presentations will be led by two of UKs leading multi-disciplinary voice educators, Dr Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher, joined by Lucinda Allen and Joanna Walling. It offers practical insights into applying your existing musical skills and knowledge of voice to work creatively with students singing different music genres.
