Yantra Yoga Benefits for Voice

Tuesday 5 May, 18.30-20.00 BST

Join Dr. Ekaterina Valeeva-Farrington for an introduction to Yantra Yoga, an ancient Tibetan practice of breathing-in-movement that offers transformative benefits for voice and speech professionals.

While valued for its physical and mental health benefits, Yantra Yoga’s profound impact on vocal development remains relatively unknown in the voice field. This talk explores how this Eastern method creates “gentle bridges” to Western voice pedagogy, offering practical tools for anyone who relies on their voice professionally.

Dr. Valeeva-Farrington will guide participants through the physiological and neurobiological foundations of how Yantra Yoga enhances vocal function: expanded breath distribution throughout the body, engagement of maximum respiratory muscles, simultaneous release of unnecessary tension, improved vocal resonance and tonal quality, and enhanced emotional resilience and vocal stamina.

Drawing on years of practice as a certified Yantra Yoga teacher and extensive academic exploration, she demonstrates how this system not only supports breath capacity but unlocks vocal qualities that may otherwise remain dormant.

Dr Ekaterina Valeeva-Farrington is a voice specialist who developed the “Between Head & Heart” methodology, bridging Eastern contemplative practices with Western sciences.
